GHPL Week 3: AshGold stay top while Dreams, WAFA grab wins

AshantiGold made it three wins out of three after they went past Karela FC 1-0 at the Len Clay Stadium. Richard Osei Agyemang’s 48th minute goal was the difference on the day for the Miners who sit on top of the league table.

WAFA bagged their second straight victory of the season with a 2-0 victory over Aduana Stars at Sogakope.

After beating Liberty 3-1 in the previous round, the WAFA boys kept their form and got their victory thanks to goals from Musah Nuhu and Aminu Mohammed, who got his 3rd goal of the season. WAFA are now on 7 points from their first three matches of the season.

They were joined on the same tally by Dreams FC who got a 1-0 win over Wa All Stars in Cape Coast. Zuberu Sharani, got the winning goal in the 8th minute from a close range strike.

In Tarkwa, Medeama got a 1-0 win over Asante Kotoko after Kwame Boateng scored a 90th minute to stun the Porcupine Warriors who had kept themselves in the game thanks to saves from their goalie, Felix Annan.

Techiman Eleven Wonders got their first win of the season via a 3-1 home win over Bechem United. Abdul Wahab got two goals for Wonders in the 30th and 47th minutes with Kweku Adu getting his goal in the 39th minute. Maxwell Frimpong scored the consolation for Bechem in the 79th minute.

Inter Allies were 2-0 winners over Liberty Professionals at the Cape Coast Stadium thanks to two strikes from Joseph Baffour Gyawu. He curled his first past the Liberty goalie after an error by a defender while the second was a bullet from a free kick.

The match between Berekum Chelsea and Elmina Sharks was postponed due to the unavailability of the Golden City Park in Berekum due to the renting out of the ground for a religious programme.
