GHPL Week 5: AshGold put Kotoko down, Chelsea smash Hearts of Oak

AshGold held the Ashanti Regional bragging rights over Asante Kotoko at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium with a 2-0 win in their meeting on Sunday.

Samed Ibrahim and Shafiu Mumuni found the net for the Miners who kept their unbeaten run in the league going and their place on top of the league table.

Inter Allies bounced back from their thumping at Aduana in the last round to beat WAFA 1-0 at the Tema Stadium. Victorien Adebayor scored the winner in the 47th minute.

Berekum Chelsea claimed the scalp of Hearts of Oak at the Golden City Park in Berekum with a 3-0 hammering.

Stephen Amankona opened the scoring in the 48th with Abass Mohammed Braimah and Collins Ameyaw getting their other two in the 75th and 78th minutes respectively.

Dreams FC were held to a goalless draw by Karela FC in Dawu.

Earlier on Saturday, Ebusua Dwarfs drew 1-1 with Bechem United in Obuasi.

Solomon Okudzeto out Dwarfs ahead in the 46th minute but Daniel Egyin’s penalty got Bechem United a point.

The late kick-off saw another 1-1 result playing out between Wa All Stars and Elmina Sharks.

David Abagna gave All Stars the lead in the 45th minute but Sharks’s Samuel Arthur found the leveller for Yaw Acheampong’s side.
