CAF Confed Cup: Aduana qualify for group stages

Ghana Premier League champions, Aduana Stars, are through to the group stages of this season’s CAF Confederation Cup after beating Madagascar’s Fosa Juniors 7-3 on aggregate in the final qualifier.

Aduana lost the return leg 2-1 in Madagascar on Wednesday, but progress due to their overwhelming 6-1 victory over Fosa Juniors in the first leg.

Nathaniel Asamoah pulled a goal back for the Dormaa based side in the 68th minute, after the Malagasy side had taken a two goal lead.

Yusif Abubakar’s men become the first Ghanaian team to qualify for the group stages since Medeama achieved the feat in 2016.

Aduana Stars will join the likes of USM Alger and ASEC Mimosas in Saturday’s draw.
