Daniel Amartey to play for Leicester City U-23s as he returns from injury

Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey will feature for the club’s Under-23 side on Friday as he continues to regain full match fitness following his return from injury.

The Ghana international has been out of first team football for six weeks, after injuring his hamstring earlier this year in an English Premier League game against Bournemouth.

The 23 year-old returned to first team training last week, but is still far off full match sharpness, hence the decision by club manager Claude Puel to draft him into the Under-23 setup.

He is expected to start for the side when they take on the Aston Villa U-23s on Friday night.

Amartey has made eight appearances so far this season for the foxes.
