Harrison Afful scores as Columbus Crew win

Ghana International Harrison Afful scored his first goal of the season to help his side Columbus Crew beat San Jose Quakes 2-1 in the MLS.

Afful gave his side the lead in the 28th minute with a brilliantly taken close range finish. San Jose equalized through Danny Hoesen, before debutant Mike Grella sealed the win for Columbus in the 84th minute.

Afful, after the game, expressed his delight at getting on the scoresheet and praised his teammates for their performance on the day.

”I feel great after getting my first goal this season. It was a difficult game, but great work from the team for getting the win today,” he said.

The win ended Crew’s four-game winless run in the MLS, and takes their points haul to 14 for the season.
