Dogboe needs to remain focused- DK Poison

Ghanaian boxing legend David ‘Poison’ Kotei has urged new WBO World Super Bamtamweight champion Isaac Dogboe to continue working hard if he wants to keep his place at the top of the sport.

Dogboe defeated America Jessie Magdaleno in Philadelphia on Sunday to become Ghana’s youngest world champion at 23.

Poison, who became Ghana’s first world boxing champion in 1975, when he beat Rubén Olivares by split points decision after 15 rounds to win the WBC World featherweight title wants Dogboe to continue the hardwork in order to stay relevant in the sport.

“He [Dogboe] needs to maintain the level of work he has put in before the world title. He cannot afford to relax.

“I believe if he will remain on top for a long time if he can retain the title. Boxing is a profession like any other work, so he has to keep training whether or not he has a fight in place, he said.
