CAFCC: Aduana Stars lose 1-0 to Asec Mimosas

Aduana Stars  lost 1-0 to ASEC Mimosas in their opening Group A match of the 2018 CAF Confederations Cup played in Abidjan.

After making it to the competition via the qualifiers, Aduana Stars needed to start well and they held their own for 38 minutes.

That was when former Asante Kotoko and Bechem United forward Ahmed Toure rose to head home a cross from  Alex Angdandji.

Aduana Stars tried to get back into the game but they wasted all the opportunities they had especially in the second half including one from close-range in the 85th minute.

The loss leaves Aduana Stars on zero points ahead of the second round of the group games on May 16. Aduana Stars will face Raja Casablanca at the Dormaa Park.

Aduana Stars starting lineup: 16-Joseph Addo; 27-Anorkye Badu, 25-Justice Anane, 6-Paul Aidoo, 13-Caleb Amankwah; 21-Sam Adams, 7-Zakari Mumuni; 30-Noah Martey, 14-Elvis Opoku 11; Mohamed Yahaya, 17-Nathaniel Asamoah.
