Amartey vows to return stronger after horror injury

Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey has vowed to come back stronger after suffering a suspected broken ankle in his side’s 1-1 draw against West Ham on Saturday.

The Ghana international got his left ankle stuck in the turf while attempting to tackle West Ham’s Michail Antonio, and he had to be stretchered from the pitch with an oxygen mask, before being admitted to hospital.

It is feared the 23 year old could be out for the rest of the season although Leicester City manager Claude Puel was unable to put a time frame on Amartey’s return.

The unfortunate injury comes at a time when Amartey seems to have slowly played his way back into the plans of Claude Puel, making nine premier league appearances already this season.

The former F.C. Copenhagen defender however took to Twitter hours after the incident and promised to return stronger.
