Kim Grant happy with Hearts’ progress in the NC Special Competition

Hearts of Oak Head Coach Kim Grant says he is delighted with the progress his side have made since the start of the GFA Special Competition.

Hearts were the biggest winners in matchweek 9 of the competition, beating WAFA 4-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium, with two academy graduates Michelle Sarpong and Manaf Umar getting on the scoresheet.

The Phobians have now won three games on the bounce, and sit top of the Zone B standings.

Kim Grant says although there is still room for improvement, he is happy with their progress in the competition.

“We just need to cut down on our individual mistakes and make the right decisions at the right time,” he said.

“We have learnt from our mistakes from the first round, and that is part of the education I’ve been talking about. I’ve shown them videos, and we’ve worked a lot in training.

“We were able to maintain concentration throughout the 90 minutes, but most importantly we know we can control games and score goals, as well as defend.

“I’m glad we were able to cut down on the individual errors and hopefully it continues.”

Hearts will take on Liberty in their next fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium.
