#AFCONonCiti: Jordan Ayew makes CAF’s Best XI of the first round

Ghana’s Jordan Ayew was adjudged by CAF as one of the best eleven performers in the first round of the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt.

The Swansea City has led the line for Ghana in their three matches and scored twice in their group games against Benin and Guinea-Bissau.

The list was put out by CAF on Wednesday after the group stages ended on Tuesday.

Ayew is joined on that list by Mohammed Salah, Mohammed El-Shenawy, Ahmed Hegazy and Ahmed Elmohamady of Egypt, Yaya Banana of Cameroon, Ashraf Hakimi of Morocco, Anicet Abel Andrianantenaina of Madagascar, Ismail Bennacer and Riyad Mahrez of Algeria, and Sadio Mane of Senegal.

Ayew’s team mate, Mubarak Wakaso, was part of the 8 substitutes. The others were Youcef Belaili and Youcef Atal of Algeria, Andre Onana and Andre Anguissa of Cameroon, Mehdi Benatia of Morocco, Cedric Bakammbu of DR Congo and Carolus Andrea of Madagascar.

The second round of the tournament starts on July 5.
