IBF Lightweight boxer, Teofimo Lopez, believes Ghana’s Richard Commey has flaws that can exploited in the event of a meeting of the two boxers.

Lopez is seen by many as the main contender for Commey’s IBF Lightweight title and he has stated his intentions to go for a shot at Commey.

However, he needs to beat Japan’s Masayoshi Nakatani on July 19, to be the official contender for the title and speaking in an interview with The Fight Guys YouTube channel,  he said he was confident that he would use some of Commey’s negatives if or when he got  the chance.

“Richard Commey showed me (in his fight with Ray Beltran) that he had a few flaws. He was too open and stuff like that. So, we will work on those things but for now, my main focus is on the bout on July 19 to prove that we are ready for the next step which is the bout with Commey.

The only way to get to Commey is to knock Nakatani out and move forward from there. Commey also showed that he still had his power and he kept even to the 8th round but in terms of conditioning, there were some hiccups here and there. Nonetheless, he is still looks strong.”

Ahead of the bout with Nakatani, Lopez’s record stands at the 13 wins with 11 of them via knockout and the bout will take place at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
