Eden Hazard handed Real Madrid’s ‘iconic’ number 7 jersey

Los Blancos has officially confirmed Eden Hazard will wear the iconic number 7 jersey.

Hazard, who signed for Madrid for 100 million euros from Chelsea in June, has worn the number ‘50’ over the course of the pre-season.

The iconic jersey number is associated with the club’s greatest players that have dazzled fans with sublime goals, skills, and flair.

The Belgium captain now takes the number 7 shirt from Mariano Diaz.

The shirt number has been worn by legends like Cristiano Ronaldo, Raúl and Raymond Kopa.

Fellow new signing Luka Jovic will wear No 18, Ferland Mendy received No 23, Eder Militao was handed No 3 and Rodrygo No 27.

James Rodriguez, who spent the last two seasons on loan at Bayern Munich, has returned to the Spanish capital and will take over the No. 16 shirt after Modric was given his previous No.10 shirt.

Zinedine Zidane’s side visits Celta Vigo on August 17 and will hope Hazard’s new number can help them to success.
