CAFCL: Ibrahim Tanko backs Kotoko to beat Etoile du Sahel

Black Stars assistant coach Ibrahim Tanko has backed Kumasi Asante Kotoko to beat Etoile du Sahel in the first leg of their CAF Champions League qualifying match at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.

Kotoko beat Nigerian side, Kano Pillars in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League to set up a a clash  with last year’s quarter finalists in the second round of qualifiers.

The Ghanaian side came from a 3-2 deficit to progress 4-3 on aggregate after a 2-0 win in Kumasi.

Kotoko is looking to beat the Tunisian’s to a place in the group stages of the competition for the first time since 2006.

Tanko is confident the Porcupine Warriors can do it.

We all know Etoile is very a good team but the current Kotoko team is doing well.

The supporters are always behind the club.

So I wish them the best of luck ahead of the clash and I am sure they will give Etoile a very good game in Ghana so they can have the advantage of going to the next game.

The first leg of the qualifiers will be played on Sunday, September 15, 2019, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium before traveling to Tunisia two weeks later.
