GFA Elections: Osei Palmer appeals to Normalisation Committee over disqualification

According to reports, Tema Youth CEO, Wilfred Kweku Osei, has submitted his appeal to the Normalisation Committee over his disqualification from the race to become the new GFA President.

Last week, the Vetting Committee for the elections stated Osei was not successful during the vetting and thus, he was not going to be part of those who had showed their interest in replacing Kwesi Nyantankyi.

According to the committee and per a statement released by Osei after the disqualification, he was found to have breached Article 33 (5) of the GFA General Regulations which talked about making mandatory payments of percentages due the GFA from international player transfers.

In addition, Osei was also said to have breached ethics rules when he linked Ghana’s failure to qualify to the 2018 World Cup in Russia to the non-payment of unclassified payments.

For that breach, Osei was found guilty by the GFA’s Ethics Committee.

It is unclear what will come out of the appeal but sources close to Osei tell Citi Sports there is a lot of confidence that the Tema Youth CEO will be a part of the elections on October 25.
