U-23 AFCON: Ghana XI vs South Africa- Kwabena Owusu starts, Polley dropped

Spain-based forward, Kwabena Owusu, has returned to the Black Meteors starting lineup for their 3rd/4th place playoff against South Africa later on Friday.

Owusu came off the bench in the team’s last match against Cote d’Ivoire as a second half substitute for Robin Polley but he gets to play from the beginning this time round.

The rest of the team remains unchanged from the Cote d’Ivoire match.

Kwame Baah will be in post with Kingsley Fobi, Edward Sarpong, Fuseini Zakaria and Habib Mohammed in defence.

The midfield has Emmanuel Lomotey and Michael Agbekponu in the deep areas with Yaw Yeboah, Evans Mensah and Samuel Obeng playing behind Kwabena Owusu.

Ghana will need to win the match in order to get the final ticket to the 2020 Olympic football tournament.
