Mesut Ozil happy after Arsenal fans in Ghana sing his name, honour him with painting [VIDEO]

There’s apparently a love story brewing between Arsenal star Mesut Ozil and Ghana.

The player recently discovered that a club in Ghana had been named after him in Ghana and expressed his appreciation on Twitter.

And just days later, the player posted a video of some members of Arsenal’s fan club in Ghana singing his name.

At least one of them was sporting a Gunners jersey with Ozil’s name on the back.

The small group had with them a “handmade pencil portrait” of the German playmaker in his classic look – a snood covering his neck and the bottom half of his face.

They then broke into song for a few seconds, in a minute-long video posted by the player on his Twitter page.

He posted the video with the caption: “Messages like this make me really happy. Greetings back to the @Arsenal
Fan Club Accra in Ghana and thanks for your amazing support from West Africa.”

Earlier this week, Ozil fell in love with Ghana when he found out that a football team in the Eastern Region had been named the Abiriw Ozil Football Club.

Ozil’s agent, Dr. Erkut Sogut was in Ghana at the beginning of December and visited the club in Abiriw.

He presented the players with some Arsenal jerseys on behalf of the German international.

Ozil has had a tough season so far as he’s only made 7 Premier League appearances and provided one assist.

But he’ll hope for a new start under a new manager after Unai Emery was fired a couple of weeks ago.
