GHPL Week 11: Aduana Stars sting Kotoko, AshGold go top

Aduana Stars‘ home dominance over Asante Kotoko continued after they pipped the Porcupine Warriors 1-0 at the Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa in Week 11 of the Ghana Premier League. The match was drowned in a lot of controversy after the teams started with 10 men each for no official reason but it was eventually decided by a 90th minute goal from Samuel Bio.

In Tarkwa, Hearts of Oak recorded their 5th clean sheet of the season after a goalless draw with Karela FC.

In Accra, Inter Allies failed to build on their away win at Berekum Chelsea in Week 10 after they lost 2-1 to Medeama Sporting Club.

The visitors scored in the 15th and 62nd minutes through Nana Kofi Babil and Prince Opoku Agyemang while Allies’ goal came from Victorien Adebayor whose 89th minute goal was his 11th of the season.

Elmina Sharks won the Central Regional derby against Ebusua Dwarfs after a 7th minute goal from Benjamin Boateng settled the tie.

AshGold got a similar scoreline when they hosted Dreams at the Len Clay Stadium. An own goal from Abdulai Ibrahim was the difference for the Miners who went to the top of the league table with the win.

In Techiman, Eleven Wonders drew 1-1 with WAFA. Musah Sule gave the home side the lead in the 47th minute but Eric Asamany struck for WAFA in the 70th minute.

On Thursday, Bechem United beat Liberty Professionals 2-1 at the Nana Gyeabour Park. Moro Salifu and Karim Abdul scored for Bechem United while George William Ansong got Liberty Professionals.

Great Olympics suffered another loss at home after they succumbed 1-0 to Berekum Chelsea. Former TP Mazembe full back, Richard Kissi Boateng, scored the only goal in the 49th minute.

It was honours even at the Len Clay Stadium as King Faisal and Legon Cities drew 1-1. Benjamin Okine put Legon Cities into the lead in the 43rd minute but Ibrahim Osman struck in the 57th minute to level things.
