“Hearts of Oak has four clean sheets to its name”- Odoom booms to reporters

Hearts of Oak interim head coach, Edward Odoom, has praised the team’s defensive efforts despite criticism from observers that the Phobians are not doing enough to stop opponents.

Hearts have conceded 10 goals so far in the league but they also have four clean sheets to their name.

They managed to go unscathed in matches against WAFA in Week 4, Dreams in Week 7, AshGold in Week 8 and Aduana Stars in Week 9.

Ahead of their Week 11 tie in Tarkwa against Karela, Odoom believes that the team’s defence is doing a good job and they deserve some commendation.

“With the exception of the result against Bechem United that saw us giving two goals away we have managed to put together four clean sheets so far this season.

People will say that we make mistakes but they are part of mistakes. What we will do is to correct them and that is our job.

I need to add that the same players people criticise are the same players who helped us keep those clean sheets.”

Hearts were not breached on their last two away trips to Dreams FC and Aduana Stars and they will hope for same when they head to Karela on Wednesday.
