C.K. Akonnor to name Black Stars squad for Sudan tie today

Black Stars head coach, C.K. Akonnor, will announce his squad on Tuesday for Ghana’s double-header against Sudan in the AFCON 2021 qualifiers.

The matches mark the resumption of the qualifiers and Ghana will host Sudan in Cape Coast on March 27 and the, go to Sudan for the reverse fixture on March 30.

The announcement will be done at the Accra City Hotel and Akonnor will use the occassion to answer questions on the team selection for the two matches as well as the results of his three-week scouting and monitoring visit to Europe.

Even though the announcement of a Black Stars squad to the media and the general public is not necessarily a novelty, the new GFA administration led by Kurt Okraku, has stated that it will be feature of its activities and Akonnor will face the media to take questions and provide answers concerning the squad especially ahead of major tournaments.

The Black Stars currently lead Group C of the qualifiers with 6 points after they beat South Africa and Sao Tome in the first two matches of the series.
