GHPL: King Faisal add Acheampong and Akurugu to their ranks

Former Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Samuel Akurugu

King Faisal FC have brought in two new players to help their floundering Ghana Premier League campaign.

The players, midfielder Andy Oduro Acheampong and goalie Samuel Akurugu, were signed during the second registration window of the Ghana Premier League.

The team announced Acheampong’s signing on March 25 while Akurugu was brought in on March 24.

Acheampong joins Faisal after stints with Star Madrid, Rainbow FC and Corners Babies while Akurugu comes with a lot of experience from his time at Accra Hearts of Oak.

Faisal have gone into the market to look for players to help their season after they failed to record a single win the 14 league matches they played.

Their 15th game against Hearts of Oak was not played due to the suspension of all sporting activities in the country because of the spread of the Coronavirus.

Faisal were at the bottom of the league due to the 6 draws and 8 losses they picked up.

However, they were part of the best scorers in the league with 17 goals but they gave away 29.
