Bayern Munich players return to training despite rise in COVID-19 cases [PHOTOS]

Players of German champions, Bayern Munich, returned to training today.

Football in Germany has been on hold since March 13 due to the outbreak of Coronavirus.

The German Football League recommended that the clubs should remain away from training at least until April 5.

The league itself is suspended until at least 30 April.

The club said that training will go ahead on Monday but will not be open to the public.

Training will take place with no members of the public present,” they said in a statement.

In order to further slow the spread of the coronavirus, FC Bayern asks fans to continue to follow the instructions of the authorities and therefore please do not come to the FC Bayern training ground.”

Germany is one of the worst-hit countries in Europe during the COVID-19 pandemic, with over 100,000 confirmed cases and over 1,500 deaths.

The situation has forced lockdowns across the country, including in Bavaria where Bayern are based.
