C.K. Akonnor to take home USD 25,000 monthly salary

Black Stars head coach, C.K. Akonnor, will pocket an amount of USD 25,000 a month in salaries for his work with the senior national team.

The development was confirmed by Kofi Asare Brako, the spokesperson and personal assistant of the Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah, on Accra-based Adom TV on April 4.

The disclosure brings some closure to discussions surrounding Akonnor’s working conditions after he was appointed in January this year.

He had worked until this month without a proper contract and the FA stated that the two parties were trying to find a common ground in order to make progress.

In addition to the USD 25,000 salary, Akonnor will be given a car and accommodation.

Akonnor’s predecessor, Kwesi Appiah, was on a USD 35,000 monthly salary.
