GFA Cancel Season: Kotoko, Ashantigold to represent Ghana in Africa

Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold will represent Ghana in CAF’s inter-club competition next season after the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association took a decision to cancel the 2019/2020 Ghana premier league season at the half-way stage due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Kotoko will play in the CAF champions league while Ashantigold will play in the Confederations cup.

The two clubs were chosen as per the relevant provisions of the CAF inter-club football Regulations which stipulate that in the absence of a champion for a member association, the representatives for the previous season shall be made to represent that country.

Kotoko and Ashantigold both failed to make it to the group stages of the competition last season.
