GFA keen on rejuvenating colts football – Sammy Anim Addo

Executive Council (ExCo) member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Samuel Anim Addo says the FA is committed to reviving and rejuvenating colt’s football in the country.

Colts football has seen reduced impact in the local football space after years of neglect.

In an interview with Happy FM,  Anim Addo, who is also a member of the GFA’s Juvenile Football Committee,  said colts football requires renewed investment to take it to the next level.

“Colts football is still running in the country, together with the academy system.

“The problem is that most of the owners of colt’s football club did not adapt to the modern ways of football which the GFA is trying to work and change that narrative. Now football is a very lucrative business and to succeed you will need more sponsorship and investment which the FA is working on it”.

Anim Addo also justified the allocation of $58,000 from the FIFA COVID-19 fund to the commencement of the National Juvenile Festival.

“We were just about to start the juvenile league before the COVID-19 hit us. The FA wanted to introduce the Juvenile FA Cup, Inter-Regional Championships and many others”.
