We lack the resources to nurture boxing talents – Rovers Sappor

A boxing trainer, Rovers Sappor has bemoaned the continuous neglect from authorities to ensure that boxing just like football is given the needed resources to ensure that trainers are able to nurture the talents that abound in the country.

Rovers Sappor, who is currently part of the coaching staff of former IBF Africa Super welterweight champion, Dodzi Kermah believes that with the provision of the right resources in terms of training facilities and gyms, trainers will be better placed to produced the country’s future world champions.

“I am based in Atimpoku and until I get to Accra, I will have to use a makeshift structure to train young but very talented boxers who are very interested in the boxing profession.”

Mr. Sappor called on the National Sports Authority to make a case for boxing to government to enable the sport maximize its huge potential of producing world class boxers.
