Black Stars drop two places in latest FIFA world rankings

The Black Stars of Ghana have dropped from the 46th spot to 48th in the latest FIFA world rankings for the month of October 2020.

Ghana had maintained the 46th slot since November 2019 but now drop two places after October’s round of international friendlies.

In the two friendly games, they first lost 3-0 to Mali and then whipped the Asian champions, Qatar 5-1.

The games were part of preparations for the upcoming double-header against Sudan in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in November.

Despite dropping in the overall ranking, the Black Stars remain sixth on the African continent behind Senegal (21st in the world), followed by Tunisia (26th), Algeria (30th), Nigeria (32nd) and Morocco (39th).
