Bernhard Lippert promises to detect the DNA of Ghana football

Technical Director for the Ghana Football Association Bernhard Lippert says his first task is liaising with necessary stakeholders to develop an identity for Ghanaian football at all levels.

The 58 year old German replaces Francis Oti Akenteng and will lead the GFA’s restructuring program.

Speaking for the first time since his appointment, Lippert emphasized the need for team work in order to be successful with the process of developing a playing philosophy.

“Football is not so difficult because it is the same everywhere in the world.

“The only thing that is different is the organization, the structure and different kind of cultural education which is very important to develop a country in football.

“We have to find out the DNA of this country and that means we have to develop the national football philosophy of this country.

“I cannot decide this and I need the help of a lot of people here to define the DNA.

“After that a very structured plan will be followed to develop colts football, youth football and then it will be organized through the youth national teams to the top, he stated.

Lippert has spent a month already in his new position and watched both of Ghana’s international friendlies against Mali and Qatar.
