See how sports personalities celebrities marked Ghana’s 64th Independence Day

On the 6th of March 1957, Ghana gained autonomy to manage its own affairs.

Since then, the country has honoured its heroes who led the fight to attain independence for the West African country.

As part of this year’s celebration, some sporting personalities took to Twitter to show their patriotism towards their country of birth.

The head coach of the man’s senior national team, the Black Stars, Charles Kwablan Akonnor who once captained the team, tweeted a picture of himself while playing for his country, along with the flag of Ghana.

Ghana’s all-time leading goal poacher, Asamoah Gyan also posted his favourite Black Stars moments to remind the country just how important he has been for us.

Former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah, also shared a word on his Twitter to mark the 64th anniversary of Ghana’s independence .

Other Ghanaian players like Abdul Baba Rahman, Vincent Atinga, Abdul Mumin among others also took to social media to show their love towards the country.

Ghana Premier League clubs like Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Inter Allies, Dreams FC, among others also joined the social media party.

European clubs like Atletico Madrid, and Swansea City wished Ghana on their 64th Independence Anniversary.
