Set up a training camp for us – Ghana’s 4x100m men’s relay team

Ghana’s 4x100m men’s relay team is calling on government to provide a training camp to allow them prepare adequately ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Team Ghana booked their spot to this year’s games after finishing second at the World Relay Championships in Poland over the weekend.

In an interview with Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo on Citi Tv’s scorecard, Benjamin Azamati who was speaking on behalf of the team believes they would be able to build better chemistry ahead of competitions if they are able to camp together.

“We want to have a training camp, there are a lot of competitions in the next two months. Azamati said.

“Just enter us and let us go run the relay so we can have that team chemistry.

“With that, we can go out and perform better.”

This is the first time Ghana’s male relay team is qualifying for the Olympic games since 2004.

Benjamin Azamati and Joseph Paul Amoah have also already qualified for the 100m and 200m events respectively for the Olympics.
