Black Bombers to depart for Japan in June to acclimatize

The Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation have confirmed that they will depart for Japan to participate in the Tokyo Olympic Games in the month of June.

The bombers are currently in residential camping and have ramped up their preparations in a bid to be in top condition for the competition.

According to President of the Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation, George Lamptey, measures have been put in place to help the Ghanaian contingent familiarize with conditions in the host country.

“Hopefully by the 23rd of June the group should move from here to Japan.

“The team will haver their pre training at the Noguchi Memorial Hospital.

“When the team moves in time they can get enough preparation to enable them acclimatize with the weather.

“When that happens there will be no complaints,” George Lamptey told Citi Sports in an exclusive interview.

Three members of the Black Bombers team have sealed their qualification so far with a couple more also eligible for qualification in the coming weeks.
