#Donkomi Abraham Okyere signs for Belgian side Beerschot from Inter Allies

Belgian Jupiler Pro League side K Beerschot VA have announced the signing of teenage Ghana midfielder Abraham Okyere.

The box-to-box midfielder – who turns 19 on July 6 – arrives from Ghana Premier League side Inter Allies.

Okyere moves to Europe and joins the Antwerp-based club from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where he enjoyed a season-long loan spell with Al Hilal United FC. He played all matches and got named in the team of the season.

The Purple White Army have on Tuesday confirmed signing Okyere on a two-year contract (until 2023) which comes with an option to extend for two more seasons.

“Abraham is a player who can play centrally in midfield, He has great running ability and is a real box-to-box midfielder,” Beerschot Technical Manager Sander Van Praet told the club’s website.

“Our technical department has worked hard this year to scout these talents,” said chairman Francis Vrancken. “We are therefore proud that we have been able to bind Okyere to us despite competition from other clubs.”

A proud Inter Allies Chairman, Rabeh El-Eter also said: “Okyere is an example for our young players. He is passionate about football, very disciplined and a real winner. We will miss him but we are sure he will soon find his place in the Beerschot family. We are confident he will succeed in Europe.”

Abraham Okyere started his football career with Inter Allies in Ghana. There he progressed through the youth series and made his first-team debut at the age of 16 during the Normalization Special Cup tournament in 2018.
