Andre Ayew optimistic about future of Black Stars

Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew has expressed optimism about the future of the national team based on the potential of the young players at the core of the side.

In recent times, a number of young players including Mohammed Kudus and Gideon Mensah, among others have been handed national team opportunities.

With the World Cup qualifiers and the AFCON approaching, Ayew believes the youngsters will help the team obtain its objectives.

“The talent is there; maybe a bit less experience but the talent, the endeavour, fighting spirit, the desire to do good things there. I can feel it when I’m with the boys at camp, they are very hungry and motivated,” he said.

” Fatawu, Kudus, Danlad; all these young guys coming up , they have a bright future but to be successful they need to be able to deal with the pressure.

“I hope that as a squad we will be ready to fulfill what the nation wants.”

The African qualifiers for the World Cup are expected to begin in September this year, after which Ghana will shift attention to the 2022 African Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.
