Tokyo Olympic Games: Joshua Clottey casts doubt over Ghana’s medal chances

Former IBF Welterweight Champion, Joshua Clottey believes it will take a miracle for Ghana to win a medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Ghana has represented three boxers for the games which commence on the 23rd of July.

According to Clottey, Ghana’s boxers are poorly prepared and have been exposed to a lot of distractions.

He made these comments in an interview on Citi TV’s the Tracker.

“As for the medal, I am not sure, anyone who returns with a medal to Ghana, the president will have to have a meeting with that person. He said.

“Their preparation is very poor, even where they camp is close to their homes and so they can easily go home to make love to their women. “

14 athletes will be representing Ghana at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and they will be hoping to win another medal for Ghana, with the last coming in the 1972 Games in Munich.

The various athletes will compete in six sports disciplines, namely: athletics, triple jump, swimming, judo, boxing and weightlifting.
