Ex-Tunisia captain Radhi Jaïdi appointed Esperance coach

Tunisia champions Esperance Sportive de Tunis have appointed Radhi Jaïdi as the club’s new head coach.

The former Tunisia captain has signed a two-year deal with the four-time Caf Champions League winners that will run until 2023.

The 45-year-old replaces compatriot Moine Chaabani as head coach of the record 31-time Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 champions.

The former center-back has over 280 appearances for Esperance and over 100 apps as well for the Carthage Eagles between 1996 and 2009.

Radhi Jaïdi was previously head coach of the under-23 team at Southampton, head coach of USL Championship team Hartford Athletic and assistant coach at Belgian side Cercle Brugge.

He has chalked considerable successes at all these clubs and is back to where he started his career as a coach.
