The jersey is dotted with Adinkra symbols, which are meant to depict the rich culture of the Ashanti Kingdom.
Adinkra symbols have decorative functions but also represent objects that encapsulate evocative messages that convey traditional wisdom and aspects of life.
The jersey is the second made by Kotoko’s kit partners, Italian sports manufacturing company, Erreà for the Ghana Premier League giants.
Finishing as runners-up to arch-rivals, Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko will be hoping to make big strides and fight for yet another league trophy next season.
After the release, fans shared their views on the kit:
It’s has meaning ..
It’s represents Tradition …
It’s Ghanaian 🇬🇭..
