We must embrace the pressure and perform – Richard Ofori

Deputy captain of Ghana’s Black Stars, Richard Ofori, has has charged his teammates to embrace and try to fulfil the high expectations of Ghanaian football fans.

Ghana face South Africa’s Bafana Bafana on Monday, on the back of a heavily criticised outing against Ethiopia where they won by a lone goal.

According to Ofori, Ghanaians have every right to have high expectations, and believes it is the responsibility of the team to try as much as possible to live up to those expectations.

“We are in a country where people have high expectations. And those expectations are based on what previous teams have done before,” he said.

”We need to embrace the pressure and make sure we make the country proud at the end of the day.

”We are going into the game against South Africa to get all three points, and we hope everything goes well in that regard.”

The FIFA World Cup qualifier between South Africa and Ghana will be live on 97.3 Citi FM from 15:30 GMT.
