LOC Chairman Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Asare

The LOC of the 13th African games, Accra 2023 has announced they will be launching a games fund to encourage citizens to contribute to the funding of the games.

This initiative was announced by LOC Chairman Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Asare at the launch of the “triplets” (the logo, mascot, and website) of the Africa Games

Ghana will host the games at the Legon Stadium and the Borteyman Sports complex, which is currently under construction.

The 54 African countries will present nearly seven thousand athletes and athletes for the games, competing in 26 sporting disciplines.

According to Ofosu Asare, the capital-intensive nature of the games require citizens to contribute their quota towards the hosting of the games.

“It is important for us to own the games and we have an initiative to help citizens contribute towards the successful hosting of the games.

“With 30 million people in Ghana, even if each person contributes One Ghana Cedi, we are talking 30 million Cedis,” he said.
