GPL: “We are struggling” – Hearts of Oak coach Samuel Boadu

Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Samuel Boadu says the Phobians are struggling but is confident they can still mount a successful title defense.

Hearts and Kotoko played out a dramatic goalless draw in Super Clash on Sunday, a result that sees the Porcupine Warriors extend their lead at the top of the Ghana Premier League table.

Speaking to the media after the game, Boadu admitted his side has had a poor start to the 2021/2022 league season but can still defend their title.

“Asante Kotoko is a good side no doubt. In this first round they are on top, we are struggling, but we believe that the day is still young,” he said after the game.

“For sure we still have the chance to defend our title, all the clubs are pushing, but we have to push harder to reach our destination,” he added.

Accra Hearts of Oak will return to action on Sunday when they face Legon Cities in the first game of the second round of the Ghana Premier League.
