2022 WCQ: See the VAR set up at the Baba Yara Stadium for Ghana vs Nigeria [VIDEO]

Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology will be deployed for the first time in Ghana when the Black Stars face the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the 2022 FIFA World Cup play-offs in Kumasi.

With a day to the crucial encounter, Citi Sports can report that the VAR machine has already been set up at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Officials of the Confederation of  African Football (CAF) were seen testing the device to ensure smooth operation on Friday during the game.

The first leg encounter is scheduled to kick off at 19:30GMT on Friday 25th March, 2022, with the return leg set for Abuja four days later.

Success over two legs will guarantee the winner one of Africa’s five slots at the World Cup to be hosted in Qatar later this year.
