Gov’t will give Black Stars needed support to deliver against Nigeria – Sports Minister

The Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif has assured the Black Stars of the government’s full support as they prepare to take on Nigeria this Friday.

Mustapha Ussif says the necessary financial and logistical support will be provided for the Stars before and during the game to ensure they get the best possible preparation for the clash.

“As a government and as a country, we can make sure we get all the finances and logistics that the team needs to shine on that day. We’ve started putting in all the necessary steps to ensure that nothing becomes a hindrance to our success on that day,” he said.

“Whatever we need to do as a country, in terms of making sure the players arrive on time or have a good session in training, especially when you have a new technical team, the government is ready to provide the necessary logistics.”

The Black Stars face Nigeria in the first leg of their 2022 World Cup playoff tie on Friday at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The second leg will take place four days later in Abuja, with the winner of the tie on aggregate claiming one of Africa’s five slots at the tournament in Qatar.
