Fabulous Ladies fined GHS1,000 after team manager ‘threatened’ referee

Women’s Premier League club, Fabulous Ladies have been fined an amount of GHS 1,000 by the Ghana Football Association after one of their staff threatened a match official.

Team Manager, Patrick Apreku was found guilty of “intimidating and threatening” Augustina Tetteh, the referee in Fabulous Ladies’ match against Ampem Darkoa Ladies.

Patrick Apreku denied the charge insisting that he only told the referee to be fair in her decisions and never at any time “threatened or insulted the referee” during the match.

The GFA’s Disciplinary Committee, however, found him guilty of misconduct and fined his club as a result.

“The fine imposed on Fabulous Ladies FC shall be paid to the GFA within 14 days failing which the GFA shall apply Article 15 of the Disciplinary Code,” the GFA’s statement said.
