Ghana will be ready for African Games – LOC Chairman

The Executive Chairman of the African Games Local Organizing Committee, Dr Kwaku Ofosu-Asare, has assured the press that Ghana will be ready to host the African Games next year.

The African Games, which are being held in Ghana for the first time next year, are an important part of the African Union’s strategy of peace and unity and use sports to achieve those aims.

Speaking at the launch of the African Games Salah football competition, the first event in the African Games publicity and sensitisation programme, he told the press that work was progressing nicely.

“In terms of the facilities, I will say that we have advanced. I want you to take a trip to Legon, where you will see what is going on there. We are upgrading the Legon University [facilities]. “

Regarding Borteyman, he said:

“If you go to Borteyman, we have many other facilities that we are we are building; an aquatic center, tennis courts, multi purpose sports halls etc. We are working extremely hard, the contractors are working extremely hard to make sure that we meet our timelines.”
