‘Ashantigate’ Scandal: Inter Allies want GFA to reverse demotion

Inter Allies Football Club want a complete reversal of the Disciplinary Committee’s decision to demote the club to Division Two.

On Monday, Allies, along with Ashantigold, was handed the sanctions after being found guilty of match manipulation in a game played at the end of last season.

The club has since appealed the decision and their lawyer Felix Nana Osei says the evidence against Inter Allies is not substantial.

“It is the contention of the club that the evidence that was used during the trial by the Disciplinary Committee, was not substantial enough to pin the club down per the charges that were levelled against us.

“So the basis of our appeal is that we want a complete reversal of the verdict that was handed against us,” he said.
