Tariq Lamptey spotted at Ghana vs Madagascar game as he nears nationality switch

Brighton and Hove Albion defender, Tariq Lamptey, watched the Black Stars beat Madagascar 3-0 at the Cape Coast Stadium in their first game of the AFCON 2023 qualifiers.

Lamptey, 21, is in Ghana for holidays as he nears a nationality switch from England to Ghana.

He recently turned down a call-up to the England U-21 squad reportedly because he wanted to weigh his options, with Ghana FA officials trying to convince him to play for Ghana.

Second half goals from Kudus Mohammed, Felix Afena-Gyan and Osman Bukari sealed all three points for Otto Addo’s men, who next take on the Central African Republic in their second group game on Sunday.
