Evans Aryee to honor invitation to Imatra Strongman Competition in Finland

Ghanaian powerlifter and strongman Evans Nana Ekow Aryee has been selected to participate in this year’s Imatra Strongman competition that is held annually in the Finland capital of Helsinki.

The date slated for this years competition is from the 26 of August 2022 to the 27 of August 2022. This year’s competition is expected to host over 30 Strongmen draw from various parts of Europe to battle it out in the two-day event.

The 24-year-old Evans’s invitation to the Imatra Strongman competition marks the first time a Ghanaian has had the opportunity to participate in such an international powerlifting and strongman competition.

In attempt to convey his feelings towards his invitation to this year’s competition, Evans expressed high hopes and alluded to the fact that his invitation to the competition is a sign that his headwork is being recognized.

“ The Imatra Strongman competition is one of the biggest powerlifting and strongman competitions in Europe, it obvious it is every strongman’s dream to get the chance to participate in such a credible and prestigious competition. This only sends one message loud and clear to me, that my hard work is being recognized and that is good opportunity to show to the world what I am made off” he alluded.

Evans also asked for the support of Ghanaians both home and in the diaspora to make it a point to come support their own as he intends to make his mother country proud at the end of the competition.

“ I expect that all Ghanaians both home and in the diaspora especially those in Finland should come out and support their own, the ream is to put Ghana on the map and represent it gracefully at various international competitions” he said.

The two day competition set to take place in Finland will include the following activities in the first day, deadlift trap bar 335/375kg, Long Press 140kg reps, Fronthold 30kg.

While the activities of the second day of the championship will comprise of Conan’s wheel, keg toss 4,2m, loading, framers walk and Press Medley.
