Qatar 2022: Venue named for Ghana-Brazil friendly game

A venue for the friendly tie between Ghana’s Black Stars and the Selecao of Brazil has been named in the lead up to the high profile tie.

The game scheduled to be played on Friday, September 23 will happen at the  Stade Oceane in Le Havre in France with both nations set to use the upcoming tie as a key preparatory test for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The upcoming friendly against the South American nation is one of three friendly games lined up for the Black Stars ahead of the trip to Qatar.

The match against Brazil kicks off at 18:00 GMT; Beyond Brazil, Ghana is in line to play against Nicaragua and Switzerland in similar friendlies.

Ghana played against Brazil in a friendly game in 2011 that had the Black Stars lose 0-1 at Fulham’s Craven Cottage with Leandro Damaio netting the winner.

Five time World Cup winner, Brazil, has been drawn in Group G against Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon while Ghana takes on Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay in Group G at the group stage level in Qatar.
