Williams Bros score in same game for the first time

Inaki Williams and Nico Williams scored in a game they both featured in for the first time in 42 outings in Athletic Bilbao’s 3-2 win over Rayo Vallecano in the Spanish La Liga.

Inaki scored Bilbao’s first in the 14^th minute and Nico scored at the San Mames in the 33^rd minute with both goals sandwiching Oihan Sancet’s 28^th minute goal in a dominant first half display from Bilbao.

Rayo threatened to pull even later on in the game after Radamel Falcao scored in the 80^th minute but Bilbao held on to clinch its fourth win in six games.

Ghanaian defender Abdul Mumin made his Rayo Vallecano debut after securing a move from Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes. Mumin came on in the 79^th minute for fellow defender Florian Lejeune.

This is the first time the Williams brothers have scored in the same competitive game and bookends a wonderful week for the football family.

Inaki received his call up to Ghana’s Black Stars for friendly games against Brazil and Nicaragua; the 28 year old recently committed his international football career to Ghana.

Younger brother Nico got called up by Spain ahead of friendly games against Switzerland and Portugal.
