Ben Bentil features in Red Star Belgrade preseason matchups

Ghana Forward Ben Bentil has delivered solid production in preseason games for new side Red Star Belgrade (Crvena Zvezda MTS).

Ahead of the start of the ABA League, Red Star featured in preseason games against Greek outfits Peristeri and Olympiacos with mixed results.

Red Star secured a 73-72 win over Peristeri but suffered a 55-94 loss to Olympiacos with Bentil scoring 13 points and eight points respectively.

The Serbian powerhouse is gearing to play Skopje on Saturday, October 1 in the opening round of the ABA League; Red Star opens the 2022-2023 season in the Euroleague on Friday, October 7 against Turkish side Anadolu Efes.

Bentil played for Peristeri during his time in Greece and played against Olympiacos as a member of Panathinaikos for two seasons.

During his time at Panathinaikos, Bentil won two league titles and a Greek Cup title before moving to Italian side Olimpia Milano.

Bentil is the first Ghana born player to get drafted and compete in the NBA. He was drafted into the NBA in 2016 by Boston Celtics and played briefly for Dallas Mavericks.
