CAFCC: Real Bamako prevent live telecast of game with Hearts of Oak

Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club’s game against Malian side Real Bamako in the CAF Confederations Cup won’t be telecast on national TV in Ghana.

This is according to an official statement issued by the club mere hours before kickoff; the game is scheduled to commence at 16:00 GMT at the Stade Modibo Keita.

The game was originally set to be shown on Ghanaian channel GTV Sports+ due to an arrangement between the channel and Hearts.

However, according to the Rainbow Club, Real Bamako has turned down Hearts request to telecast the game live. The unfortunate incident also prevents fans from watching the game on Hearts of Oak’s mobile phone App.

This afternoon’s game is the first of two legs to determine the team that qualifies to the next round of Africa’s second tier football club competition.

The return leg takes place at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 15; Real Bamako qualified to play Hearts at the expense of Burkinabe side AS Doaunes via a penalty shootout.
