Richard Ofori picks up injury in Orlando Pirates league game

Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Ofori has picked up an injury in Orlando Pirates 1-1 draw with Amazulu in South Africa’s DSTV Premiership.

The experienced shot stopper’s injury in the 55th minute forced him to leave the contest.

Ofori returned to the team as a starter after missing Pirates goalless draw with Richards Bay due to accumulation of yellow cards leading to an automatic one game suspension.

The former Wa All Stars player is in the mix to feature for Ghana’s Black Stars at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar; he is in a direct battle for the starting place with Joseph Wollacott of Charlton Athletic.

Ofori recently manned the post in Ghana’s 1-0 win over Nicaragua but watched from the bench as Ghana lost 0-3 to Brazil in pre World Cup friendly games played in France and Spain respectively.
